The May Estate Auction presents a wide range of property from estates, private collections and institutions throughout the West Coast. Among the Fine Art offerings are paintings, sculpture, photographs and graphics; Jewelry will feature period selections, timepieces, natural jadeite jade and quality diamonds; Asian Art will showcase fine jade carvings, porcelains, bronzes, glassware, scrolls and textiles and the Furniture and Decorative Arts section of the sale includes silver, rugs and carpets, glassware, porcelains, figurines and American and European furniture. Selected highlights for the month of May include a classic image of Old World Italy in "The Macaroni Eater" after Sir John Everett Millias, a pair of certified ‘A’ grade jadeite earrings encrusted with diamonds, an absolutely delightful album of Chinese export gouache watercolor paintings from the estate of Senator Theodore Francis Green and ten lots of whimsical Tramp Art. In addition, the Stamp and Coin Department will present a selection of international offerings in its May sale. Amongst the lots are collections of U.S. gold and silver coins, Chinese silver coin sets and rare Imperial Russian and British medals that were once awarded to Stoker P.O.F. Ticchi.
