The first step in selling property at auction is to obtain a free informal appraisal of the item. This appraisal includes an estimated value, which is the best judgment of the specialist as to what the object will sell for at auction. The figure is based upon the specialists' expertise and knowledge of what similar items are realizing in the current auction market. You will also be provided with information on the appropriate auction, a timetable and an explanation of our terms of sale. Free appraisals can be obtained in the following manner:
- Appraisal Appointments – Michaan's specialists are pleased to meet with you in person to evaluate your property in your home or at our gallery. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please call us at 510-740-0220 or email .
- Weekly Appraisal Events – Every Wednesday from 10am – 1pm. These weekly appraisal events are held in our main gallery. Our specialists will offer you a verbal appraisal on the spot. Limit three items per person. Jewelry appraisals are made by appointment only. Please call 510.740.0220 ext. 125.
- Submitting Photographs – You may submit images online or mail your photographs to Michaan's Auctions, P.O. Box 489, Alameda, CA 94501.
Off Site Appraisal Events
We will host an appraisal event at your facility. Contact Michaan's Auctions to set up a date and time to have your own "What's it Worth." These are community service events in which we are happy to help you host.
