Video Highlight

Four Asian Hand Warmers

Roll over for video transcript A highly collectible lot of four 19th and 20th century metal hand warmers highlight over fifty Asian lots in March.  Called "shou lu" in China, these convenient apparatuses glowed with lit coals whose heat became retained within the metal body.  Their open work designs that served in both form and function continue to provide an artistic element that remains desirable to today’s collector.  The lot for sale contains three circular pieces and one rectangular example, with the largest measuring approximately 5 1/2 inches in width.  The Asian metal hand warmers will be sold on Saturday, March the 7th as lot 159 at an estimate of $400-600. Join us on March 7 for a chance to buy four Asian hand warmers at auction!
