Fine translucent jade and a lustrous string of rare natural pearls are among the highlights as jewelry takes center stage at Michaan's in December. The selection of brilliant diamonds includes a sophisticated ring from Tiffany & Co. A standout among the fine timepieces is the Patek Philippe ladies' Art Deco wristwatch. Also offered are fine period pieces, statement rings with large colored gemstones, Native American pieces and many more estate jewelry finds. Tiffany Studios art glass is featured, led by a spectacular three-piece window depicting a trellis hung with lush greenery and Japanese lanterns. Art collectors will find paintings of New York and Paris; California Impressionist, Figurative and Modernist works; and fine photographs including William Claxton's 1961 portrait of Thelonius Monk. Three-dimensional artworks include a sexy contemporary wall sculpture by Birgit Dieker and a handful of ceramic donuts by David James Gilhooly. A large trove of Meissen pieces includes figural groups, exquisite birds, fruits and flowers. Fine English and Japanese silver is poised to entice collectors and enhance holiday tables. Asian Art treasures include jade carvings, Meiji Period cloisonné, gilded figures of Buddha, and a diverse selection of Chinese porcelains.
