Great finds in fine art range from an 18th century American portrait miniature to a photo assemblage by Lew Thomas (b. 1932), whose work is collected by SFMOMA. The superbly expressive marine paintings of Charles Herbert Woodbury (American, 1864-1940) are featured. Highlights include the 1984 Bay Area garden landscape painting by Michele Cascella.

A massive Chinese red embroidered silk panel anchors the Asian art offered in April. Exquisite carved and inlaid cinnabar and hardstone panels, purchased in early 20th century Shanghai by an American naval commander, are offered at $12,000-$14,000 for the pair.

Modern furniture designers include Eames and Santa Monica’s Gerald McCabe. Among the period furnishings is a William & Mary walnut escritoire dating to the late 17th century.
