Hiram Bloomer "Mt. Tamalpais" Oil on Board

Roll over for video transcript This fresh and lovely rural scene by California artist Hiram Bloomer will be offered on September 12th.  The oil on board of a rural scene of a bending country road has an approximate sight measurement of 15 by 22 inches, to be sold at an estimate of $1,500-2,000.  Bloomer’s influences include Virgil Williams and the Barbizon painters and his work has been exhibited from Paris to Philadelphia.  Europe also provided inspiration, as his travels there influenced a change from portraiture to landscape art.  Bloomer’s life came to an unexpected end on June 3, 1911, as he was fatally struck by a San Francisco cable car.
